Course Description

The QUALIFI Level 3 Diploma in Chinese Culinary Arts is equivalent to the AS/ A Levels which gives student an entry into undergraduate degree programs in the universities.
This Level 3 Diploma is a world-wide recognised fast-track international qualification which is the ideal choice for high school leavers who are looking forward to progress towards the undergraduate degree by developing their professional skills in a shorter duration rather to remain in the traditional longer education system.

The QUALIFI Level 3 Diploma in Chinese Culinary Arts has been developed to allow learners to gain understanding and knowledge across a range of Chinese cooking practices.

This qualification has been created for learners who wish to develop their Chinese cooking and culinary skills within the catering sector. The qualification provides a specialist work-related programme of study that provides breadth and depth of knowledge and understanding, along with practical skills required for Chinese cooking. It also allows specialist development through the units.

Successful completion of this qualification will prepare learners for employment in the Culinary Arts sector or further learning and will enable them to possess culinary skills and a professional vision to explore new horizons of excellence in the field of culinary arts.

  • High school leavers who want to complete an A Levels equivalent qualification in a shorter duration and progress towards an undergraduate university degree rather to stay in college for a longer period.
 
  • Learners who want to switch from another field to culinary arts by developing the understanding about Chinese cooking practices.
 
  • Applicants with some Chinese cuisine experience at junior level but not having any formal qualification to pursue their education at university level.

CANVAS is an engaging learning environment provided by the Anglia Ruskin University for Stage 2 where you will receive plenty of individual support from tutors and university staff same as the regular on campus students. However, “Moodle” is the Learning Management (LMS) provided by CGL to study Stage 1 of this qualification where we provide you with the key reading and research resources via ON-DEMAND LEARNING, and you can learn conveniently by managing your own class schedule in your busy routine.

Assessment

This course is assessed through 100% coursework with a range of methods, such as essays, research reports, presentations, group work and practical reports.

Entry Requirements

To apply for this qualification applicants must have to meet one of the following criteria:

  • Level 2 Diploma in any Discipline.
 
  • O Levels or equivalent overseas qualification such as Matric or 10th Grade.
 
  • Applicants must be 16 years old at the time of application; however, QUALIFI does not specify any entry requirement for this qualification.
 
  • We welcome applications from international students. If your first language is not English you will be expected to have at least appropriate skills in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking to complete this qualification in English. Alternatively an overall IELTS 5.5 (with at least 5 in each component). You may be exempt from providing evidence of English language proficiency if you have gained your previous qualification from an English Speaking university or awarding body.
 
  • All applications are considered on an individual basis. Applicants may be invited to an interview, either on campus at CGL or online, as part of the application process.
